Find your recorder guide

Start with the model on your recorder, not just the name on your order.

Not sure which model you have?Open General on the recorder. Take a photo of the model name and firmware version and send it with your support request. For camera compatibility, include the camera’s model label too. Hide passwords and access codes.

Which recorder is this?

CVT106N has no built-in monitor. W/H/S monitor models use the same guide. All WiFi 6 models have a blue setup screen. Current N-series orders ship with the CVT106N WiFi6 recorder, even when the listing retains an older kit SKU.

Black screen or blue screen?

CVT808C black: 21.12M or 22.04M.
CVT808C blue: New UI 23.04M.
CVT808A: use the CVT808A manual.
CVT804C and other models need their matching guide. A blue screen alone does not prove WiFi 6. If unsure, send Support the General-screen photo before following setup or firmware steps.

Adding or replacing a camera?

Check the match before you buy. Send us the recorder and camera model numbers.

What to check before upgrading
  • Send both recorder and camera model numbers to support before buying a replacement. Similar appearance or WiFi generation alone does not establish compatibility.
  • Confirm available channels, camera type, pairing method, and power requirements. Older Ethernet-pairing cameras and reset-button cameras use different steps.
  • Wireless refers to the video connection. The recorder and each camera still need their specified plug-in power adapters.
  • CVT30WB standard AI bullet cameras use infrared night vision and do not include floodlights, panic sirens or two-way audio. These features require a supported camera such as CVT35WB.
  • In a two-floodlight/two-standard-bullet kit, lighting, sirens and two-way talk apply to the two floodlight cameras.

Camera features depend on the camera model, even when several models use the same recorder.

Quick answers, when you need them

Cameras work on the NVR but not in EseeCloud

First confirm that all cameras display on the recorder. For the new interface, check System Setup > Network > Connect to Router (Wireless) > Network Status. Once online, find the Cloud ID under System Setup > Account/APP. In EseeCloud, use Add by Cloud ID and your recorder login when prompted. Older interfaces use different menu paths; use the matching guide. Never post passwords or device access codes publicly.

Local recording is separate from optional cloud storage. Buying cloud storage is not a troubleshooting step for local recording.

Pair a compatible camera with the new interface

Test the camera about 3–6 feet from the recorder with the correct power adapter. For reset-button cameras, follow the model-specific reset instructions, select + on the bottom NVR menu, then Continue. Confirm live video before mounting. If the camera uses Ethernet pairing or the menus differ, contact support for the matching steps.

A camera disconnects or the recorder restarts

Check whether one camera, all cameras, or the recorder is affected. Check power connections and ventilation. Test an affected camera near the recorder using its correct adapter. Distance, walls, metal and interference can affect wireless operation. If the recorder itself restarts, contact support to check its power supply and connected storage before replacing the system. Use only the correct voltage, polarity, connector and current rating; a camera adapter may not power the NVR properly.

Live video works but recordings are missing

Check whether the hard drive is detected, the recording schedule, selected channel, and recorder date/time. Record the HDD status or error message and contact support. Do not format a drive if you need its recordings: formatting erases them. Contact support before formatting or opening the recorder.

No sound in a recording

Audio requires an audio-capable camera; it cannot be enabled on CVT30WB. On a supported camera with the matching new interface, open System Setup > Camera, select the channel, then Keep Recording and Sound Recording. If the option is absent, confirm the camera model with support.
